Claim a Handle

- In Bluesky, open Settings → Account → Handle.
- Select "I have my own domain."
- Enter your new handle in the domain field.
- Either tab works: "DNS Panel" or "No DNS Panel". Hit Verify.
- Click "Update to…" and you're done.
DNS can take a few minutes to propagate. If verification fails at first, give it five minutes and retry.
How It Works
- Enter your current Bluesky username so we can look up your account's DID (its permanent ID).
- Pick an available pikaparty.social handle. We create the verification record for you instantly.
- Point Bluesky at your new handle in its settings. Takes about a minute.
Your old .bsky.social name stays reserved for your account, so you can always switch back.

- Does this cost anything?
- Nope. 100% free.
- What happens to my original handle?
- Your most recent .bsky.social username is automatically reserved for you. Switch back any time; no one else can claim it.
- I'm already on a custom domain, not .bsky.social.
- The form only looks up bsky.social usernames. Message Snax on Bluesky with your current handle and she'll set yours up manually.
- Can I change my pikaparty handle later?
- Yes, but it's not self-serve yet. Rebranded or made a typo? Message Snax on Bluesky and she'll sort it out.

Claiming a handle records your Bluesky DID, your chosen handle, and the submission time. Profile previews are pulled live from the public Bluesky API. No IPs stored, no tracking, no analytics; nothing is sold or shared.
